Self-confessed Scrooge Miriam Margolyes hosts a traditional Dickensian Christmas party with the help of food historian Annie Grey to teach her how to make a fashionable feast. Craft specialist Ruth Goodman helps Miriam make her own decorations. A trip to one of the world's oldest toy shops brings some inspiration for entertainment and a meeting with Charles Dickens' great great great granddaughter teaches Miriam the importance of philanthropy in Dickens' writing.
